After the procedure?

To achieve results in most chronic cases, the MUS procedure is repeated typically for three consecutive days.

Post-procedure care is one of the most important parts of the MUS procedure and makes it truly effective. The therapy begins immediately - typically the same day.  After the procedure, the patient is instructed to return home, eat and rest.  Later that day, the patient can start with their prescribed home stretching exercises to help them enjoy and maintain their new flexibility.

After the patient has completed all of their MUS procedures, they visit their doctor's office and undergo a combination of stretching techniques, manipulative, massage and trigger point therapies, cryo-therapy and/or electrical stimulation.

Following the last MUA procedure, the patient should follow their intensive therapy program for 7 to 14 days. The post MUS therapy typically consists of the same stretches accomplished during the MUA procedure. This is followed by rehabilitation for the next one to two months, including stretching, flexibility and strengthening exercises, plus periodic manipulative therapy treatments as required by the doctor. A regimented program of post-MUS therapy will help the patient regain both pre-injury strength and help prevent future pain and disability.
