💉 10X Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Injections
Advanced Healing with EmCyte Dual-Spin Technology
What Is PRP and How Does It Work?
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a cutting-edge treatment that uses your body’s own healing power. Blood is made up of several components—red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma, and platelets. Platelets are the part that help with clotting and healing. When concentrated, platelets release powerful growth factors that tell your body to start repairing damaged tissues.
By drawing your blood and spinning it in a centrifuge, doctors can separate out the platelets and concentrate them into PRP. This rich plasma is then injected directly into the area that needs healing. The concentrated growth factors reduce inflammation, repair tissue, stimulate collagen, and encourage new cell growth¹.
What Conditions Can PRP Help Treat?
PRP therapy is used to promote healing in both bone and soft tissue injuries. At Johnson Medical Center, we use 10X PRP therapy to help with:
- Joint injuries and arthritis
- Tendon and ligament strains or tears
- Back and neck pain
- Chronic pain in the knees, hips, shoulders, and elbows
- Degenerative disc disease
- Degenerative joint disease (Osteoarthritis)
- Plantar fasciitis and other foot conditions
- Hair loss and skin rejuvenation (in aesthetics)
- Chronic Trigger Points and Muscle spasms
PRP is especially useful for patients who want to avoid surgery or long-term medications.
Not All PRP Is the Same
Many clinics offer PRP, but the quality and concentration can vary drastically.
🔸 Standard PRP kits often use 10 cc vials with a wax barrier. After one spin in the centrifuge, some of the heavier healing components get trapped in the wax, reducing the potency of the PRP.
🔸 EmCyte’s 10X PRP system uses a 60 cc vial and a two-phase spin process that separates and concentrates the platelets without wax (As in most PRP kits), preserving key growth factors. The result? A PRP product with up to 15 times more platelets than your normal blood. This can mean 7 to 21 billion platelets in one treatment².
Higher platelet counts = more growth factors = more healing.
Why We Use EmCyte Technology
At Johnson Medical Center, we use EmCyte PurePRP® for all our PRP procedures. Their FDA-compliant system offers:
- Greater platelet concentration
- Cleaner separation with fewer red and white blood cells
- Higher purity and potency
- Consistent, evidence-based results
This means our patients receive a higher-quality treatment that promotes faster healing and longer-lasting relief³.
Is PRP Right for You?
PRP is ideal for people who want a natural, minimally invasive solution to chronic pain, joint damage, or sports injuries. Since it uses your own blood, there is little to no risk of rejection or allergic reaction.
At Johnson Medical Center, we evaluate each patient to determine whether PRP therapy is the right option and how it fits into their personalized treatment plan.
